Molecular Plasma Group (MPG) has been approached with demands for coating of medical sutures, carbon fibre tows and textile yarns. Until recently, there were no methods to continuously do atmospheric plasma coating of such materials in a roll-to-roll system. MPG has come up with various nozzle designs and can now apply coatings at 30 m/minute and more.

Latest designs optimize the exposure of the plasma and precursor to individual filaments, allowing industrial speeds and easier scale-up for multiple tows in the future.
