Roll-to-roll processes play an important role in numerous industrial processes. They can be used to functionalize materials, for instance films, textiles, flat membranes, metal foils or even ultra-thin glass.
The Fraunhofer IGB is part of the R2RNet network, along with 21 European partners from industry, research organizations and universities. The aim is to promote the exchange of experience and to facilitate access to technology and equipment.
At the Fraunhofer IGB we explore a variety of applications for R2R technology. For example, we develop ice- and water-repellent coatings for surfaces that can be affected in their function by snow and ice formation.
